This "Consumer Handbook on Adjustable-Rate Mortgages" document explains what you need to know about adjustable-rate mortgages. This booklet was initially prepared by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Office of Thrift Supervision in consultation with the organizations listed below. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has made technical updates to the booklet to reflect new mortgage rules under Title XIV of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act).
